About
From Stockport, Manchester. At home everywhere.
I didn’t arrive in this industry through the usual route.
I didn't go to ad school - I just had a podcast, a few Instagram accounts that took off quicker than expected, and enough initiative for someone at BMB to take a chance on me.
Since then, I’ve worked across agencies of every shape and size - from Coolr back when it was basically a start-up, to giants like Ogilvy.
I’ve produced shoots with a hundred people on set, and shoots where it was just me, a camera, and a presenter hoping the mic wouldn’t fall off again.
I’m from Stockport, raised on football and music, now living in East London - but the northernness doesn’t really leave you.
I’ve been lucky enough to work abroad too: Qatar, Chile, Amsterdam, Spain, the US.
Freelancing has been the bulk of my career:
23 agencies, 4 cities, 48 brands - plenty of learning, and enough variety to know what good teams look like.
Along the way I’ve been a social lead, community manager, creative producer, consultant, head of social - but I tend to land in client-facing roles.
Not because I shout the loudest, but because I work honestly, collaborate properly, and don’t make things more complicated than they need to be.
I like: work that’s genuinely thought-through, people who care, and that quiet moment after a presentation where you know it’s landed.
I dislike: jammed printers.
At the end of the day, I do this because I enjoy it.
Every so often I get to send my Nan a video I helped make, which is still nicer than any metric I’ve ever reported on.
